Dance of the 21 Qualities of Tara

Join us on Sunday, January 7th, 2pm-4pm, to dance and embody the 21 Qualities of Tara and the first movements of the Mandala Dance as well as a meditation on Tara # 3, Impeccable Virtue! 

Through the precious Tara Dance lineage, we fully embody the Divine Feminine in our lives to shine our love and light where it is most needed.

The movements of these sacred dances are beautiful, simple, and powerful, inspired by Dances of Universal Peace in their simplicity and Classical Indian Dance in their symbolism and power of the mudra gestures. The visualizations and mantra are based on the Tibetan Buddhist practices of the Noble Tara. However, Mother Tara transcends any one religion, and ultimately our practice about manifesting the Divine Feminine archetypes from many spiritual traditions.

Our meditation will focus on Impeccable Virtue, the Tara with the body of molten gold who holds a blue lotus flower. She is engaged in the six perfections--generous and virtuous, diligent and peaceful, patient and meditative. She represents our understanding that practicing virtue in an impeccable way opens the path of realization for us and those around us. She shows us skillfully the deeper meaning of virtue--which activities to focus on to bring great blessings into our own lives and into the world.

In our tradition, she is dressed in green, so please wear green or a green accessory to honor this Goddess. And bring an item for our altar if you like as well as a food offering to share with the group.

Suggested donation $22 and no one turned away for lack of funds. Registration is  required to attend.
